They are the Fountain Valley School District, Garden Grove Unified School District, Huntington Beach Union High School District and Ocean View School District.  The Fountain Valley School District is comprised of nine elementary schools, three middle schools and three high schools.  There are also one kindergarten to 12 school and two kindergarten to 8 schools.  Fountain Valley students attend two schools within the Huntington Beach Union High School District; the Fountain Valley High School and Valley Vista High School.  The Garden Grove Unified School District has elementary schools and one high school that Fountain Valley students attend, including the blue ribbon award winning Allen Elementary School. Within the Ocean View School District, Fountain Valley students only attend the Ocean View Middle School.  Coastline Community College, Orange Coast College and Golden West College are all located in Fountain View.

With near perfect weather year round, Fountain Valley offers a wealth of outdoor activities to participate in. There is a large 640 acre park, named The Mile Square Regional Park.  This park has two lakes, three 18-hole golf courses, several sports fields, archery range, an urban nature area and many picnicking areas.  The urban nature area features 20 acres of Native California plants.   Fountain Valley has a 55 acre recreation center with tennis courts, racquetball courts and a full size basketball court.  This recreation center is home to the Kingston Boys and Girls Club, a community center and a senior center.  There are an additional 20 parks located throughout Fountain Valley.
