The 60th Annual Sandcastle Contest is being held at Corona del Mar State Beach, on Sunday, October 2nd. The event is sponsored by the Commodores Club of the Newport beach Chamber of Commerce. The contest gets underway at 10am and ends at 4:30pm. This year’s theme is California Dreamin’. Anything California is a possible theme: Hollywood, Golden Gate Bridge, Orange County Beaches, and the Redwoods. Each year the contest attracts thousands of guests. There are different competitions from first timers to professional teams. Corona del Mar State Beach is located at 3100 Ocean Boulevard in Newport Beach.
