When you are selling your home; draw attention to the fireplaces. There are many ways to do this. Begin by cleaning the fireplace out, vacuum out cob webs and ashes. Add a fabulous piece of art to the mantle. Try for one eye catching item on the mantle or above the fireplace, avoid clutter on the mantle.  Create a seating area around the fireplace. Set-up a fire or fill the fireplace with scented candles. Do not light the fire or candles during open house or showing for safety reasons. Potential buyers will be able to picture themselves spending cool evening in front of the fireplace.
