Come out and help with the monthly bird count in the Upper Newport Bay. The Sea and Sage Audubon Society is partnering with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to conduct the monthly bird count from the deck of a pontoon boat. The bird counting route is from Back Bay Science Center boat dock, to the bay boat limit sign and back again. This data is used for analyzing the status of resident and migratory birds in the upper portion of the bay. The count takes place on the third Wednesday morning each month from 8:30am to 10:30am.
